Home Products Thermal Desorption & Sorbent Tubes Tsingcarbo® 300 Thermal Desorption Tube
Tsingcarbo® 300 Thermal Desorption Tube is a high-performance three-bed adsorbent tube designed for sampling and thermal desorption analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in air, water, soil, and industrial process emissions. It is engineered with proprietary carbon-based adsorbents from Suzhou Tsingcarbo Nano, offering superior trapping efficiency, thermal stability, and desorption completeness for a broad spectrum of C2 and higher molecular weight organic compounds. This tube complies with international standard methods (e.g., US EPA TO-1, TO-2, TO-3, TO-17) and is compatible with mainstream thermal desorption instruments, making it an ideal choice for environmental monitoring, workplace safety assessment, and industrial quality control.

1. Adsorbent Composition
Tsingcarbo® 300 Tube is packed with three layers of Tsingcarbo proprietary adsorbents, optimized for sequential trapping of volatile to semi-volatile compounds:
Tsingcarbo C (Graphitized Carbon Black):High-surface-area graphitized carbon black, designed for trapping medium-to-high boiling point VOCs (C₅–C₂₀), with excellent thermal stability and low bleed.
Tsingcarbo B (Graphitized Carbon Black):Medium-surface-area graphitized carbon black, targets medium volatility compounds (C₅–C₁₂), provides strong retention and easy desorption.
Tsingcarbo S (Carbon Molecular Sieve):Microporous carbon molecular sieve, efficiently traps highly volatile compounds (C₂–C₅), ensuring no breakthrough during sampling.
Bed Configuration:Tsingcarbo C (front) → Tsingcarbo B (middle) → Tsingcarbo S (rear), separated by inert quartz wool to prevent adsorbent mixing and ensure uniform gas flow.

3. Key Features & Advantages
Proprietary Adsorbent Technology:Utilizes Tsingcarbo C/B/S tailored Carbon Adsorbents, delivering higher trapping capacity and lower background interference than conventional carbon materials.
Broad Analyte Coverage:Captures C₂–C₂₀ volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds, covering alkanes, aromatics, halocarbons, oxygenates, and more.
Excellent Thermal Stability:Withstands high desorption temperatures (up to 350°C), enabling complete release of adsorbed compounds and reducing carry-over.
Low Bleed & High Purity:Strict quality control ensures minimal column bleed, improving GC/MS detection sensitivity and data accuracy.
Instrument Compatibility:Fully compatible with thermal desorption systems from PerkinElmer, Markes, DANI, OI Analytical, Shimadzu, Gerstel, and other brands.
Compliance with Standards:Meets requirements of US EPA TO-1, TO-2, TO-3, TO-17, NIOSH, and Chinese environmental monitoring standards (e.g., HJ 644, HJ 734).
Reusable & Cost-Effective:Can be reconditioned multiple times (20–50 uses) under proper conditions, reducing operational costs.
4. Applications
Environmental Air Monitoring:Ambient air VOCs, indoor air quality (IAQ), and fugitive emission testing.
Workplace Safety:Industrial hygiene and occupational exposure assessment for volatile chemicals.
Soil & Water Analysis:Volatile compounds in soil, groundwater, and aqueous samples.
Consumer Products Testing:VOC emissions from furniture, building materials, electronics, and cosmetics.
Industrial Process Control:Emission monitoring in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, printing, and coating industries.
Forensic & Research:Trace-level VOC analysis in forensic science and environmental research.
5. Performance Parameters
Breakthrough Volume:≥ 100 L for C₂–C₅ compounds under standard sampling conditions.
Desorption Efficiency:≥ 95% for target analytes at recommended desorption temperatures.
Background Contamination:Blank levels meet EPA and ISO requirements for trace analysis.
Pressure Drop:Low and consistent pressure drop, compatible with standard air sampling pumps.
6. Recommended Operating Conditions
Sampling Flow Rate:0.1–1.0 L/min (adjust based on analyte volatility and sampling duration).
Sampling Volume:1–100 L (depending on analyte concentration and breakthrough limits).
Thermal Desorption Temperature:250–350°C (optimize for specific analytes).
Desorption Time:5–15 minutes.
Carrier Gas:High-purity nitrogen or helium (99.999%+).
7. Storage & Handling
Store tubes in a clean, dry, and cool environment (temperature: 0–25°C, humidity < 60%).
Keep tubes sealed with end caps when not in use to prevent contamination and adsorbent degradation.
Avoid exposure to organic solvents, high humidity, and direct sunlight.
Recondition used tubes at 320–350°C under inert gas flow for 1–2 hours before reuse.
8. Quality Assurance
Each Tsingcarbo® 300 Thermal Desorption Tube undergoes rigorous factory testing, including:
Adsorbent uniformity and packing verification.
Preconditioning validation to ensure low background.
Leak testing and pressure drop measurement.
